President George Washington at Trinity Church In Newport

Still standing in Newport Rhode Island is Trinity Episcopal church which some say bears a striking similarity in design to church designs by Christopher Wren, a freemason of renown. In that church which was built in 1726, the box pew where it is said, General Washington sat, has a small plaque denoting the occasion in 1781. In the picture included, the pew may be seen to the right side of the original raised pulpit. The queen on her visit also has a plaque there, seated as she was in the place of honor. The church  has several Tiffany windows, to one side which are fantastic. If you get a chance to visit Newport see Trinity Church, where a Father of the Country  and Freemason once prayed.
