Truth is the most powerful of all. No claim to it is made here, thoughtful and intuitive scrutiny is however encouraged.

The Florida Debate on Mainstream Religion
Much has been wisely written about the decision by the Grand Master of Florida, to expel masons who openly declare themselves, as other than mainstream, concerning their spiritual belief; apparently a don't ask, don't tell mentality held sway. It reminds me of the rulers of old, who converted their conquered peoples by offering that men could keep head and shoulder intact by openly converting to whatever religion they espoused. The thing is that inquisitions and their like only last for a time, the inherent weakness, in them, can not support the test of time. This is what many masons understand, that with time and patience, they will eventually fall away. Will honorable men of goodwill choose a principled departure from the craft because of them? Certainly. However the energy of the craft would perhaps be better directed toward that work of building up in other areas, those of charity, good works and the like. To fight over Jerusalem when the whole world cries out for light is perhaps a waste of energy.
