The Law of Confusion

Also known as the Law of Freewill, it is said to be a governing principle of this veiled reality, a status said to be watched over and protected by many. The Seeker/Hierophant spends some time finding suitable answers to the big questions, often they are the answers that were given in youth, but the reasons why they are true just aren't adequately laid out. Confusion is noted in hindsight, when the full measure of learning has been accomplished. And once the individuals truth is formulated, the intentions will be undertaken. Or sadly one can take ones eye off the proverbial ball and never find ones intended path, wind up in neutral and sit on the fence, or reverse course in the incarnation and move toward the opposite polarity.
They say that it is the Logos' Plan, that we should seek in relative darkness, in order to appreciate the Light. Were it not for this veil of confusion, Importantly, the Plan wouldn't afford the accelerated Soul advancement that this polarized freewill plane/density offers. We wouldn't know the spectrum of suffering and sorrow nor joys and teach/learning which freewill and hence duality provides. Nor would we know Faith, since Diety would be obvious, nor the dharmic and karmic struggle, nor the choice of service/polarity, of which principle to serve, the selfish or selfless dynamic, on which the souls grade is supposedly determined, after many incarnations.
So we must find our own answers that ring true. Those accepted and freely chosen, as with faith, as absolute proof of Diety is unavailable. The leap of faith can occur in this environment. Like the Fool tarot card, stepping off into the abyss, we anchor our beliefs on a principle which apparently has little reward here, while the material polarized world often highly rewards self service. So the Soul makes sense of the confusion and chooses a direction. One path can lead at Harvest to the Adversary, That Which is Not, the dark pyramid of enslavement and power over others, while another path leads to the Collective of freely chosen understanding. The third and well trodden path is of indifference, that of having to repeat the grade because of not having met the high threshold required to advance beyond the Choice Density. This is similar to the separation of wheat from chaff, though in the course of time eventually we all advance/return to the Infinite Creator. Is there anything else?
So this is a version of the Law of Confusion, aka freewill, where the Choice is made, the choice which then empowers the will, which tempers the metal of the soul, in the fire of catalyst. Thanks for the opportunity to share this viewpoint.

Liberty doesn't require submission, it requires that men never submit when darkness prevails. Over so many decades these people have been deceived, by their teachers, into believing that anyone of the same sect is a truth teller and those of other sects and religions, the true enemy. Now that facade is falling away, the great task for Egypt's Islamic Brotherhood is to remove the veil from the eyes of those who have been kept in the dark.

The Geometry of the Flower of Life

It is found in the Osirian Temple in Egypt, perhaps the oldest of tombs discovered deep underground. Interestingly the geometric design is burned into the pillar by a technique which today we could not emulate, nor obviously could the ancient Egyptians. The flower is based on the vesica pescis, that symbol which most closely imitates the Diety in state of fractal holographic replication. And of course is used to also denote the Piscean Age, in which the Master Returned. Judging from the movie "Thrive" it is the essence of the future energy source, derived from Torus spin motors, some Tesla and some Haramein, yet to be designed. The "Thrive" movie looks to scapegoat the Rockefellers and other power brokers, which is unnecessary. Interesting that the focus is on fractals, as many times the crop circles demonstrate fractal designs. Organic fractals of course being those incorporating the golden mean, from the center out, while inorganic fractals can emulate the six circle matrix found in the flower of life, from any point conforming at the outer edge to the pattern. If it is so that the New Age is allowing to incarnate only Souls of positive polarity, then perhaps we will move from a system of organic like growth to one of inorganic growth, with less centralized power and free energy. Wouldn't that be a nice change for the exhausted Earth Mother. Wonderful that our ancient Brethren happened to build with square and compasses, those tools required to make the six petalled flower of Life.

In our sleepy little New England town the other night we had and Entered Apprentice degree. We had two candidates both of whom came to us through the Grand Lodge Electronic Membership Request program. Today I was reminded of how much things stay the same by the Scottish Rite monthly magazine which commented that in the early years of the country, a masonic lodge was one of the earliest established buildings in these towns. Men who differed in Christian Sect and cultural background could have one thing in common in the fraternity. Who best could work and best agree. At our lodge that night a Brasilian and a Irishman were brought to masonic light. Kiplings Mother Lodge poem comes to mind. How good it is for brethren to dwell together, like the precious dew of Hermon.

Reincarnation and the Veil of Forgetting

In the Plan of our Logos, the evolution of souls is accelerated using the so-called veil of forgetting. Coming into incarnation the soul has no memory of previous incarnations. Being aware of multiple lives would prove the existence of soul, but as it is veiled, the mind/body/spirit complex i.e. person, is driven to faith and to polarize towards its choice of service, to self or others, in short to define the metal of the soul. If this veil was not in place, the being might simply be contented knowing the ever present unity with Diety. Karmic debt from error would be avoided, who would make such a choice? No striving, since catalsyt/circumstance would not be sought or encountered; no polarity, since the dark side would be obvious illusion. Most importantly faith would be weak, as the one who never knows blindness appreciates vision less, compared to him who lived in darkness and then finds light. What is it about faith that is so essential, that the whole of the freewill/choice reality would be wrought to shape it? Supposedly, the arcana before this veil consisted of fewer stations. Much of the catalyst and experience of this illusion/reality is geared toward the transformative choice of polarity. What would it be like without this veil, certainly daunting would be the consideration of how far the soul has to travel in order to evolve, were it aware of truth beyond our limited sight. To me, this suggests the sublimity of the Plan of Diety, the scope and love for all creation, the light which is created out of love and freewill. Organized, everpresent, All That Is, good, bad and indifferent, nothing is lost or unloved.

Sacred Geometry and Unified Fields This guy is on to something. UTUBE from July 2010. Haramein puts forth that the old Masters perceptions- that we are all One, that the light informs the darkness, that the spirit underlies the physical, is really all dogma until you prove it mathematically and empirically. So he has presented it and so far refutations of his proof are not forthcoming. You know the establishment is trying like hell to find error. After all, modern day quantum physics hangs in the balance. Could it be that spooky action at a distance is explained by the possibility that each proton of each atom is in contact with an all informed vacuum, by way of its own black hole, through the veiled reality of atomic polarity and the attractive forces? In 825 he translated and integrated Sanskrit and Greek source material to give us our present decimal algebraic mathematics. When the Islamic conquest of Persia was completed, Baghdad was the scientific center, and the House of Wisdom established by Caliph Al ma'mun, the same Al ma'mun who was the first known man to enter the Great Pyramid, in 820 c.e. 12th century translation of Al-Kwarizmi's books on algebra was done in Latin in Segovia, Spain by Robert of Chester . The scholar also worked on astrolabes, among other sciences, which lately ties into the Hooked x astrolabe with arabic 4 combined with X(ten for latitude numeral 40 "Perhaps one of the most significant advances made by Arabic mathematics began at this time with the work of al-Khwarizmi, namely the beginnings of algebra( al-jabr, rebalancing). It is important to understand just how significant this new idea was. It was a revolutionary move away from the Greek concept of mathematics which was essentially geometry. Algebra was a unifying theory which allowed rational numbers, irrational numbers, geometrical magnitudes, etc., to all be treated as "algebraic objects". The time and the half time, and no man knows the time of the Eternal Return. The world upheaval predicted by The Law of One Material and the Edgar Cayce Material, by the Aztec Calendar and the commencement of the Aquarian Age. Before the year 1000 there was great expectation of the end or of the Return. We know that the present is all that is, that the future is a probability and the past a perception. That the collective mind influences everything, including the weather, and even tectonic movements, is a common metaphysical teaching. So if the major religions, and millions of minds have been anticipating, a Judgement Day, a day of reckoning, and the planet is under the load of 7 billion persons and earth changes are certainly a reality, why hasn't it happened yet.
Quantum Physics suggests that the subjective observer can influence seemingly empirically controlled events. What if new found Hope in the places where grinding repression existed, has raised our collective status. What of new Faith, in places where scientific nihilism, existed. What of Charity, one nation to another, has lifted the burden of poverty, from age old forces. Would these things be enough to change the look of the probable reality of earth's new age. We have spent 40 years in the desert....we know we are all the children of earth and of the cosmos. We see Infinity through our powerful telescopes and our sciences continue to plumb the depths of Creation without final answers to the basic questions of the Creation. Maybe the probable reality has changed, maybe TGAOTU and all the Hierarchy of Angels are finding that the earths freewill density is a success and earth can transition into the higher reality in a more sublime way. It may not be a vain hope. The disclaimer that all the prophecy is meant as a warning only, or simply the meanderings of searching minds and hearts and that things will likely march along as they have and all the rest is hogwash, is admitted. But still Prophecy is affected by change, even the changes caused by its warning. However that doesn't mean the probability of same is averted. Like climate change, we can reduce the rapidity of CO2 geometric rise, but that is unlikely to alter the probable y axis end point in 30 or 40 years, without massive change, only the time x axis.

Robert Lomas and Morals and Dogma

The last books that I've read by Robert Lomas, the Physicist Educator and prolific masonic author have been fantastic. The research done in the Templar Key and in his book on the Royal Society in Invisible College is truly illuminating. He is perhaps the best masonic author we have today and it would not surprise me if he was the inspiration for Dan Browns Robert Langdon. The true test of his grasp of spiritual things is his new book about the interface between science and metaphysics. I would recommend the Law of One of course to him, but just his grasp of spooky action at a distance should be enough to qualify him as a modern Albert Pike to freemasonry. Perhaps he could wright a few of our degrees in the appendant bodies. Imagine if our rituals were able to convey well that if as many have always suspected, the physical world is laid over the geometric matrix of the spiritual world, and that therefore the laws of physics must agree with spiritual laws, Newtons reciprocal change of energy....mass in motion requires equal and opposite force to bring to rest....has the correllary in karma. This is cause and effect, and forgiveness is a force which will stop that wheel of karma. Reincarnation, of the infinite soul, can refer to the concept of preservation of energy, being transformed. Inertia, has correlary, a reason for our transformative freewill plane of spiritual evolution...in that a soul without catalyst will remain at rest, blissfully at rest within the Creator. Material and spiritual gravity would hold, that which has greater success at seeking the infinite Creator has greater spiritual weight. So a black hole is as a solar logos. Anyway, if we were able to have ritual which brought science and deeper truths of the root of mind together, it might help things move along in our great society of friends and brothers.

The Merovingians viewed the honey bee as sacred, 300 golden bees were stitched into Childeric's grave cloak, subsequently used by Napolean, who crowned himself. Clovis wife Clotilde of the Burgundians, and Bornholm, enocuraged the emblems use. The Burgundians having come down from Burgunderland (bornholm) after 100 AD. Bornholm where the later Templar round churches are found. Dagobert of Sion scrolls found at the church of Mary Magdalen at Rennes le Chateu comes later. The long haired princes of the Landeudoc in southern France, with their supposed lineage to Mary, ruled from the 5th to the 8th century in parts of France and Germany, defeating the Roman Syagrius and uniting parts of what would become France. The area was also the seat of the Cathars, heretics to the church destroyed in the early 1200's in the albigensian crusade. The honey bee may have become stylized in the Fleur de Lis by french court in the 1100's. The hexagonal honeycomb geometrically perfect, magical in its use for building, and industry, and perhaps representing Mary. The Fleur appears in many coats of arms, in Spain, in Luxemborg, medieval Bosnia and the City of Florence, birthplace of the Englighenment. Mary who was oft worshipped by early european Christians, some turning from the Norse Freya, like Rollo Ganga the Walker who founded Normandy. The Viking enclave which bound itself to the royal families of Europe in marriage and who gained Nuestria with the Treaty of St Clair in 911 promising to stop raiding, and his descendant William the Conqueror became King of England. We Freemasons are kinda fond of the honey bee too. Just a note of interest, it may be that a recently discovered microbiologic agent is infecting the bees and causing them to become disoriented and perhaps not return to the hive... leading to hive collapse. I hope we Freemasons don't suffer from such confusions.

The Magna Carta, The Marshall and the Master of the Temple

Watching the movie Ironclad the other night, I did alittle Wikipedia as the bodies were cloven. It would appear that one of the great knights of the era, William Marshall, whose tomb is in the London Temple, was present and an advisor to King John when he signed over rights to all freemen in the 1200's document. This document which initiated Hadeas Corpus, the right to be charged when held, was a great step away from the idea of King as Gods magistrate. The Master of the Temple was also present. So while these men were not on the side of the Lords and freemen, it is easy to think that this important charter, giving powerful rights to guildsmen may have contributed to the transition from Templars to Freemasons and to the rights of man. Marshall, who had fought in the Holy Land, was made a Templar on his deathbed. Does anyone have any comments further on the subject?

Ct. Grand Lodge Tests The Corner Stone of New Britain Police Building

Last Saturday as the most destructive early snow storm in generations began to fall on Central Connecticut, the Grand Master of Ct. Freemasons Bro. James T. McWain and his suite of Grand Lodge Officers performed the corner stone ceremony for a new public building. The corn, was scattered upon the Stone by the Grand Master Elect Bro. Gary W. Arseneau, of Friendship Lodge #33 in Southington, the oil and wine by the Grand Senior Warden and Grand Junior Warden, who also tested the stone by plumb and square and level to verify its setting as true, trusted and well laid. Prayers were said for the builders and the officers of the law who will work there, by Bro. James Vander Eyk, Grand Chaplin Pro Tem. Many Brothers turned out. New Britains Mayor Timothy Stewart, noted that the ceremony would be one of his last serving as Mayor, and one of which he was honored to participate in. The Chief of Police Honorable William Gagliardi said words extolling the fraternity, the service of the department, and the great effort of city government to get the building to reality. October 13th 1307 The end of the Templar era

Thanks to Philip of France and Pope Clement V for the betrayal of the Knights Templar which occurred today 704 years ago, bringing about the end of the age of the crusades. If it had been allowed to continue perhaps it would have evolved into a greater order with greater goals than the taking of Jerusalem and pushing back the Mohammedan armies. A world wide order with the aspiration of universal brotherhood may have been advanced. Oh wait that happened anyway.

Percival and the Fisher King

Percival sups upon the generous Kings delicacies and sleeps on feathered bed and is given the greatest hospitality in his misty mountain top castle outside of time and even the Grail is brought to his attention. But he was told never to ask questions so not to be ill mannered. And so the Fisher King must continue paralyzed. Had Percival simply asked about the Grail, the King would have been miraculously healed. Alas poor Percival awoke the next day alone and was given an unescorted departure. To ask...to knock...to seek....nothing is found if nothing is sought. It is the same in Freemasonry, you have to ask. The same with knowledge....you have to seek.

The Sword in the Stone and Saint Galgano

Check out link to title of this post. I was searching Cistercian abbeys of which there are many and came across the interesting story of Saint Galgano, who for reasons debated, appearently sank his blade into solid stone in Tuscany in the eleventh century. If I were to bet I would say it was not an admonition from his dreams which caused him to to do so but rather an anguished moment of faith when this man was considering abandoning the world and its glamour. The question arises though, can we believe in such an accomplishment in the physical world. Ra says that the Great Pyramid was made whole from Infinite Stone, Edgar Cayce says it was built by the same power which causes iron to swim. We know that in some tellings of Percival the first knight was Galvano, and of course the sword in the stone is part of King Arthurs tales. Many of us believe that the spiritual world is just beyond the physical law, but if this story were true, then the power to move mountain is within our capabilities just not our understanding.

N.E.A.R.A. article of the Newport Tower Origin

It does seem entirely possible that the Newport Tower with its astrological window alignments was a Templar/Cistercian emulation of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. What if the Templars did not only go to Scotland Orkney after being disbanded. What if they went to other islands, as at Malta, to Bornholm and to Gotland. We know Gotland was given to the order later on. Gotland has the largest fortification in Europe a great horde of Silver has been found there, arabic silver too. What if these islands were the real refuge for the disappearing Knights and their ships. The title page has a link to the whole article. Below is a snippet.

Frères Maçons - 12th Through 14th Century

The order of The Knights of the Temple of Solomon or Templars were, we are told, dedicated to protecting pilgrims traveling in the Holy Land. Their original charge to rebuild the Temple of Solomon in its entire physical and symbolic splendor loomed large on their agenda. To this end, they called each other ‘brother masons” (frères maçons), surviving in English as the Freemasons of today. The central role of the Templars in Jerusalem expanded, along with an increase in wealth, throughout Europe. Templar Commanderies dotted the countryside. Full of zeal, the returning knights imitated the round form of the church of the Holy Sepulchre in their own churches.

Conceived among the saints, and committed to monastic vows, the Templars’ fall from grace was swift and fatal, marked with the badge of the basest of sinners. As originally chartered in 1118, with its rule devised by Bernard of Clairvaux, this was to be a combination military-aesthetic order dedicated to selfless service to God. But service to God became extremely profitable and the Order flourished. By 1300 it had become a powerful force both politically and financially. As heirs to the Gnostic mysteries acquired from the Desert Fathers in the Holy Land, their rituals were shrouded in mystery. This suspicion was used to plot their overthrow, particularly in France where King Philip the Fair and Pope Clement IV were anxious to join forces in assuring their destruction and the confiscation of Templar wealth and property. The intrigue culminated on the fateful day of October 13, 1307, when Grand Master Jacques de Molay and 15,000 brother masons were snared by French storm troopers, turned over to the Pope’s resourceful inquisitors for inconceivable tortures and ultimate deaths. The Grand Master, Jacques de Molay, languished, cruelly tortured, for seven years until at last, proclaiming the innocence of his Order to any abominations and cursing Philip, he was slowly burned to death in March of 1314.

After October 14, the Order of the Knights of the Temple of Jerusalem ceased to exist, at least in France. In Spain, where the Pope was not favored over the wealthy knights, the Kings of Aragon and Castile found them innocent. In Portugal, they were reconstituted as the Knights of Christ. The Germans were indifferent to the Pope’s edict disbanding the Order. The English were busy with other enemies, and it was not until the Pope’s inquisitors arrived in 1313 that persecution began in earnest.

The remaining vestiges of Templar power simply disappeared the night before the assault. The eighteen ships of the Templar fleet anchored at the Atlantic port of la Rochelle were gone. Gone, too, was much of the Templar wealth.

Where did the survivors go? The most popular theory is that the fleeing knights sought refuge along the rugged coast of Scotland where Robert Bruce, in his increasingly bloody fight against English domination would have welcomed these warrior monks to his forces. The victory over the English at Bannockburn would have assured the refugees a secure haven for many years to come. Several investigators have wondered if, in conjunction with Scots renegades or Norse-rooted Orkney Islanders, some ships of the fleet found their way across the Atlantic to a western refuge.

One wonders if the "refugio" or "Norman Villa" noted on Verrazzano’s 1524 map, or the tiny tower shown at the mouth of today’s Narragansett Bay on Mercator’s 1569 map offer any clues. Even cartographer Marc Lescarbot shows a Latin cross (representing a Christian settlement or just a stop?) on the bottom left corner on his 1609 map focusing on the Saint Lawrence seaway where crosses abound on the map. To pursue our quest for a prototype for the Newport Tower, let us consider the building traditions of the frères maçons.

Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Jerusalem

Not far from the never- fulfilled dream of a rebuilt Temple of Solomon, the best known Templar construct in the Holy Land is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Built by Constantine in the 4th century over the reputed tomb of Jesus, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was variously damaged and defaced by Persians and Muslims before it was rebuilt by the Crusaders in the Twelfth century. Far more grandiose than its numerous offspring, the rotunda is surrounded by an arcade supported by twelve round columns and six square pillars which in turn support a gallery repeating the same columns and pillar configuration supporting a dome but which was originally open to the sky. Its form became the model of round churches throughout Europe. Charlemagne echoed it in his chapel Aix la Chapelle in Achen Germany. The Templars followed the model wherever possible, as have penitents of all nations who copied it in memory of their Savior. The common bond in all of these sacred buildings is their roundness.

Ground Zero and the Muslim Community Center GPS El-Gamal

I was watching the GPS show and Zakaria had on the owner of the Park 51 property where the Muslim Community Center was slated to be built but is delayed due to protestations. This fellow El-Gamal says that the community will determine the fate of the Muslim Community Center. It reminds me of an Ethiopian friend of mine, who always attempts to reduce the misunderstandings about Islam. I have suggested to him that he would make a good Freemason, and he just declines politely, with really no interest. Who can blame him. Now, if this developer really wants to get this project done, he should talk to the Grand Lodge of New York about getting a lodge chartered on that location. Failing that a Red Cross/ Red Crescent office would be nice. Who knows, it might just work. It certainly is an auspicious location, 51 being the angle of the great pyramid, he being of Egyptian and Polish descent and a native New Yorker. A good man, no doubt.

It never ceases to surprise me how often our little society is pilloried by professionals and the well heeled. There was a time when it wasn't so in the USA. Long since. Now we are so jaded and unifocused on our work and our families that we have little time for anything like the fellowship of lodge. One of my co-workers, an M.D. of Indian descent Sikh tradition actually, was having a bit of good humor ragging our brotherhood again. This is a man who is engaging, persistent and rational, and he thinks our fraternity is a bit of a joke. To be fair he also parted with the traditions of his parents religion also. Perhaps next time I'll mention that Bro's O'Neal and Dreyfuss didn't find it beneath their station to join us. It is gratifying when such as these do lock arms together with us, who count the unstained apron as a most prized possession. And of course it is perhaps more a reflection on our nihilistic times when little is valued beyond prestige and wealth.

People want to have proof of God, and there will never be any in the freewill world. The Initiate is blindfolded or veiled from the light for a very good reason. Part of the Plan of this "reality" is that we blindly and freely make the leap of faith, coming to believe in the Infinite Intelligence, Grand Architect of the Universe. If we had proof of TGAOTU, what possible way would there be to come to Faith. Truth not Proof, is available. In all our science, in all our religion, in all our philosophy, there will not be found a shred of proof of Diety, only the effect of Its existence. This is why we have no evidence of life after death. So Freemasonry encourages men of all faiths to join together. With faith the metal of the soul is improved, so choose, to believe or not to believe. The Infinite Intelligence exists with or without our believing. So while confusion is inherent as we search for Truth, world wide, faith is still increasing. This is not masonic thinking, this is just one mans belief, who has enjoyed the freedom of religion to seek out answers to his spiritual questions. And freedom of religion is a masonic tenet, and one held dear to the founders of the country, like Thomas Jefferson, in imitation of many great societies at the time of their zenith.

Ten minds dedicated to the same goal would have the power of just over 1000. The oft predicted coming polar wander or shift toward the new age energy is said to be aligning magnetic north at 20 degrees east of north, supposing that the change could occur gradually or radically, one wonders whether the melting of polar ice, equal to the area of six Californias in the last 30 years, means that the flood and age of Aquarius could point to a real deluge. Geology suggests that magnetic north has changed, evidenced by the alignment of rocks/crystals according to magnetic forces. Though this is much disputed.

As a practical matter of lodge work, it is typical to have the Holy Bible upon the altar, open to the proper page for the degree. It is explained to the candidate that the Bible is A Sacred Volume of Law, and that other sacred books are acceptable. On the altar at the Scottish Rite building in Washington are actual copies of at least 5 other sacred texts. I recently happily explained to a potential candidate that he is welcome to have the Bhagavad Gita upon the altar during his degrees as well as the Bible. It is, in my opinion, one of the great examples of the idea of a universal brotherhood of mankind.

The 2010 Grand Master of Freemasons in Connecticut Bro.Charles Buck has designated October 30th 2010 as the day when all 100 or so lodges in the state are encouraged to open their doors and lodge rooms to the public. The Grand Lodge has pursued this program for 3 of the last 4 years with varied results. One contention is that with all the public awareness of the fraternity in the media, it is good to back that up with actual exposure in the towns and communities where we continue to exist as we have for hundreds of years. Many still don't know who we are, or the proud history of the fraternity. But Seekers are finding their way to us. Our Grand Lodge web site gets hits every day of men asking to be contacted, men who often become Brothers, men who perhaps after seeing news of the open house later on decided to follow up, men who do not know a mason personally, but want to know more. The information gets fielded out to administrators in the districts who do the initial contact and then to designated men at the individual lodge level. It is very successful, these men are knocking. Should they be denied the benefit of our benevolent society?

The Masonic Chequered/Checkerboard Floor Pattern

The allegorical teaching of the black and white chessboard floor in masonic lodges hearkens back to the free will choice that we all make on whether we will serve the principle of selfishness or selflessness, separation or unity, darkness or light. The black and white mosaic flooring is a long standing mystical symbol, the square shape representing the physical world, as opposed to the circle representing spirit. As the laws of physics are founded on the spiritual law, and require balanced electrical polarity to exist and for work to occur, so too the spiritual in the free will creation. The checkerboard is therefore emblematic of the free will choice of service in the balanced and polarized world. Free will is one of the primary laws of this world, it is required for faith to develop in a environment where proof of Diety does not exist, it is a noteworthy achievement that Freemasonry has preserved the teaching of polarization, which emphasizes the seekers path of service. The daily choices that one makes are shaded towards either the selfish or selfless service in intent and in effect. As one moves toward either egoistic or altruistic pole, through belief, imagination and desire; the intentions and choices cause experience, which in turn draws on more catalyst, and so over time the purity of the metal of the soul is established. If one has conflicts: intending say ...benevolence but then acting maliciously..one will ineffectively keep bumping up against the same wall of confusion and stagnation, and the souls grade will reflect the lack of conviction. The free will density offers choice on a balanced field for the entity to gain, lose or be unchanged through self determination. The checkered floor is also analogous to the shepherds embrace, arms crossing the chest, signifying the choice, to serve either the right handed path, ankh of sacrifice in hand or that of the other hand, the path which pulls us to the illusion of separation, and control over others. It too is reminiscent of the two pillars to the temple, now known as Jachin and Boaz, strength and establishment, as all who remember the middle chamber long form can attest to, but anciently oft referring to the potentials of the mind in a polarized state. It has been said that a man can not serve two masters, and so it is, to establish a suitable grade within the confines here, one must choose to move upon the squares of darkness or light. Dan Brown and the Mystery School Resurrection

A not oft discussed aspect of the Dan Brown recent book Lost Symbol has to do with the certain similarity of the book to the way traveled by the seeker in the mystery school. First the Seeker or Hierphant confronts serrendipidous challenges which appear to lead him mysteriously in a certain direction. It is a passage oft traveled by students of the hidden truths, upon which the candidate may even meet with death. Like the death of Hiram, Osiris, in the Hermetic tradition. The Growth and Expansion of Freemasonry

In our district we have a familiar membership pattern as many Freemasons are familiar with. One lodge is strong, in new members and frequently fills the sidelines. In the very next town over, the lodge is weak and unable to hold new brothers. The critical mass is seemingly unobtainable. Thinking of possible district wide solutions to this, many Grand Lodges now mererly direct inquiries to closest lodges. To improve upon this, and make the growth somewhat more organic and sustaainable, the district could implement a 5 year strategy. A slight bias could be offerred to a select lodge in need. Nearby lodges would show a preference for the lodge when considering visitations in the district, then one would be as likely to meet district brothers at that selected lodge as local lodge brothers. Inquiries sent to the Grand Lodge could be slightly skewed to advantage the selected lodge, all geographical things being relatively equal. Using this technique within five years new brothers would be as likely to get the flavor of the whole district and be more likely not to go NPD/demit, due to perceived strength. This is organic growth, from the center outward similar to old lodges, where only a certain number of men per lodge were allowed and then a new lodge was chartered, due to the spillover. It is more akin to actual natural tendenies of living organisms, rather than that of inorganic matter which grows along matrixes of equal strength, in this modality men are simply sent to the nearest lodge be it strong or weak suited or unsuited to the applicant, and no particular focus is maintained anywhere.

I have noticed a very disturbing trend at my lodge. For whatever reason, we have had many new brothers come tous of late, who are foreigners , and we have managed somehow to make them mostly all be unable to feel it beneficial in lodge, enough so not to keep coming back. They come for a few meetings and thats it. This is a major problem brothers! We must goout of our way to make absolutely sure that these brothers are taken care of.

With the communications technologies being used at chamber of commerce and town halls, civic groups can be made aware of, invite and inform eachother, out to support those things in the towns which could use more focus. Whether it be a charity auction, a fundraising breakfast, by the Kiwanis, Rotarians, Knights of Columbus, the Elks or the American Legion, we can make an effort to get contacts in those societies nearby and inculcate closer work with these groups. Now that we are in the lime light a good thing to do might be to emphasize also the work of others. Then all civic societies might see some benefit in these difficult times.

Lodge and Fraternal Revitalization

Brothers, Freemasonry has many beautiful buildings which require great upkeep. We also have a need for brothers to travel and get to know one another outside of their own district and town. I was thinking that the Grand Lodges could coordinate work days where brothers can travel and work together to get these lodges looking great. The Committee for Community Action in Connecticut is given a mandate each year to work on certain projects but is always encouraged to bring new ideas to the fore. The Committee on Masonic Awareness also can benefit from such an effort. When you visit a lodge that is so obviously historic and wonderful, it makes you appreciate the craft even more. Many of these buildings are in towns where the craft was more popular and wealthy in times past. When visiting brethren come to that great masonic edifice for the first time and show their appreciation it makes one look anew at our Mother Lodges, with greather love. As we become more inclusive and draw in more diverse brothers, there is a chance that these lodges may become revitalized.

Add to this the conceptof transmigration, that souls are evolving and that there are higher realities, with both positive and negative polarized entities, which seek to empower their polarity..be it the radiant or absorptive. Assuming that those serving these opposing principals both would have equal opportunity, on a fair and even playing field to, gain adherants....how would they do that? Methods would vary, but assuming that people are making the choice in some awareness, what would be the attraction to self service? Power, pleasure, dominance, ease, intrigue, manipulation and the humiliated foe. And for the attraction of service to others....? Sharing, the joy of freedom, unified action, open communication, the good fight. True power only comes through aligning with the radiance of God, whereas unifying with the principle of self aggrandizement and power absorption is said to be self limiting at higher heavens. Iran was the first to oust westerners from the oil fields when the Shah was ousted. Women ended up marching in the streets in protest of the restrictions placed upon them by Sharia law. What followed was the bloody sacrifice of a generation of martyrs as the bodies of believers were stacked like cordwood in the marshes in the war against Iraq. The population of Iran averages under 25 due to that war. Now the youth of the country is protesting the demise of the fledgling democracy. The experiment of Islamic theocracy appears to be further unraveling as the eventual corruption of power held in the reins of the few becomes apparent even to the youth. Lets not have Iran developing a fat boy for our provocative brothers in Jerusalem, who seem unable to convince the Islamic world of their right to exist. . The Koran is a great source for law as to reparations, why don't we just find out who owned the homes taken over by the Jewish state and pay them all a million dollars each, then lets stop throwing money at the problem. Nothing breeds envy like seeing your usurping neighbors get rich, while you still live behind the walls in squalor with that same chip on the shoulder. Lets get off the oil, think a bit further than 2 weeks down the road. We sat on our fat asses for 30 years, driving around in SUVs, Hummers and whatever huge vehicle came along, we ahd the electric car, and as soon as GM could change the California law they crushed all the cars, we could've developed solar energy and benefitted the whole world. Like so many of the poeple we took a nice drive this weekend, ours to wooded eastern Ct. Once you cross the Ct. river, things become alot less congested fast. The density of drivers drops by at least half it seems, and the roads are fewer and straighter. The New England woods crowd in on the byways and the occasional farm meadow can be seen amongst the old rock walls. Back before electricity, people lived and farmed much of these flat lands and the rock walls are testament to the powerful horses they must have used, pulling each new years rock harvest by rock sled to the end of each furrow, or property line. Now with alternative energy, geothermal and solar being available to the individual home. We will begin to spread out again, away from the urban centers and back to the country. Getting off the grid, won't be such a debacle soon, unless the powers that be can't see the forest for the trees. In the European tradition the candidate is kept in darkness with but a small light to consider his mortality and the course of his life. Even though it is allegorical the knocking at the door, perhaps when possible new candidates should not have seen the lodge room before coming to light. I happen to wholeheartedly agree, I am very glad that the first time my eyes could perceive light within a lodgeroom, I was before the 3 great lights. Wisdom vs. Understanding

Wisdom denotes justice, understanding implies mercy. Corruption requires justice and an answer to power: Understanding calls for charity,and sacrifice of self. Zarathustra, the Persian dualist brought this to the Ormazdian Law. Fire/Light bringing an end to darkness, symbolized in the Templar standard the Beauseant. The light below the darkness constantly in battle to quell the natural instinct in man to dominate and create order through control. In Spain and Portugal there was a golden age of learning at a time when the Muslims, preserved the greatest library of the world, of Greek and Alexandrian texts, which would have perished under the church book burning pogrom. And wisdom and understanding among the sephirah of the Tree of Life, the Zohar came out of that same enlightened time when these religions meshed there. Too bad that the tradition of the Ormazdian way has perished from the earth, and been replaced by the salvation offerred by grace alone, through belief, and not by deeds, faith and the works of each. That certainly has confused things. Look at those who suppress women, and show no mercy, and kill in the name of God. And fully expect absolution at the Judgement. Those who destroy the earth, pillage her bounty for sake of riches. Those who deny the needs of humanity, from being met through renewable energy, crying out that the desert can't be converted to meet the challenge of an age where worse destruction of environment will not be easily averted, talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Well I quess this is as it should be in a polarized world of freewill. Confusion is the first difficulty faced by all. Still thousands of years later at the peak of our power we still don't really get the Plan. Even when the veil is being brought away from our eyes.

The New Age and the mind/body/spirit thought forms

We have all heard about the mind/body/spirit complex connectivity, and we know certainly the physical is affected by feedback loops from the mind and such. Medicine doesn't deal with the spirit, since it isn't empirical, and many still scoff at any suggestion of the thought as it effects the body. As we enter the New Age though, it will become more and more apparent that thought forms take shape more and more readily in the physical reality. That all is one, is accepted, and we are all facets of the same Creator being, and no separation between things really exists at the quantum level . If that premise is acceptable also then it is only logical that cancer and mental illness spring from the same sources of mental confusion. If one comes into the incarnation with bias towards service to others, and the new age of earth will be of that polarity, and then strays from the way, as in doesn't develop towards that direction, then the mind/spirit will begin to reflect the negative or confusion back toward the self. If one thinks negative towards others or self, the body will express it, as illness, or cancer; if one has a preincarnative intent and doesn't move towards it, face the true self, mentall illness can develop. In the new age it is said that it will become much easier to manifest mental forms into the physical reality.

The Law of One book 4 is a study of the Tarot major arcana, as a system of learning about the evolution of the soul. 21 cards plus the fool or choice card. 7 for mind,7 for body, 7 for spirit. This system is ancient study. 1) Matrix, 2) Potentiator, 3)Catalyst, 4) Experience, 5) Significator, 6) Transformation, 7) The Great Way. The suggestion is that humans are a complex consisting of mind, of body, and spirit. The allegorical system of learning is geared toward the seeker wishing to understand the system we are in for learning. For example the Magician is the creative conscious powered by will, called the Matrix, the High Priestess is the veiled unfed mind in the polarized world, the Empress is catalyst in the material world, The Emperor stands for experience, the way the information of mind is categorized and interpreted, positive or negative biases of deep mind. The Lovers is the choice of the polarity, service to self or others, arms crossed 2 paths, material riches or those of spirit, to the right or left one must choose in order to advance. Brothers, is your lodge sufferring from a bad case of anonymity? Do people you meet in your town not infrequently have a blank stare when you mention your lodge? Do they know the Elks, the Rotarians, UNICO and Odd Fellows, etc.? Why do you think that is? Could it be that since we don't have the money and membership that a bar provides, and we excuse ourselves from a service mandate, we have now gone so long that our membership no longer has the energy to do anything with impact in our local communities. Sure we have the Shrine Hospitals and such, but is there a face to your local lodge? The way out of this state of below threshold local energy is to develop positive interaction with your other local civic groups. Within a few short years, your reputation in town will improve, I quarantee it. And you may not lose so many younger made masons NPD, who are tired of doing nothing but listening to the minutes. Lets be the builders again, the builders of community.

The Initiate and the NPD

We talk about a young brother that "gets it" One who has the strength of conviction about the fraternity to get past the frustrations found on sidelines during the initial bunch of meetings. The initiate comes to the lodge, and looks to get busy, to start working on the ashlar, and asks "okay what are we doing" That question can be met with silence, or "what do you want to do" or "well here are your choices." The dropoff is great during the early years after being made a mason, we lose a large percentage of those who "don't get it" But then maybe with programs in place for all the big issues, charitable works, ritual and masonic education, lodge beautification, you name it, maybe these guys would stick around long enough to find out who we are, and that masonic endeavor is more akin to sidereal time, than real time. We think of a masons life work, I personally think of it as many lives work, not the work of a few short months or years. Maybe we should focus less on making mastermasons and more on the already made fellow of the craft. I once laid out an idea to a heavy lifting Grand Lodge officer of our lodge, that I thought we should have all the civic groups in town over to our lodge for a meet and greet. He looked at me, and readily remarked that it was a great idea and that I should do it. The door is certainly open for any brother with initiative, at least in my mother lodge. I made that meeting happen, and it had good effect in the community. The Ct. Grand Masters of Prince Hall and George Washington were happy to attend as well as some 2o civic groups represented. So lets find out what makes these new guys tick, and then help 'em along if it fits the builders use.

The Red Cross and Organ Donation embraced by the G.L. of Ct.

The Grand Lodge of Connecticut continues to encourage Blood Drives by the Craftsman. While the Red Cross continues to rely heavily on its pool of regular donors, who comprise 95% of all donors, they still need help. Freemasonry in Massachusetts is very successful at promoting blood drives and we to the immediate south have long been involved too. The Ct ARC recognized 6 lodges during the March 2009, Grand Lodge session for outstanding support. My mother lodge, Friendship #33 will be holding a joint blood drive with the local Elks lodge on June 15th. We have over many years been involved with the Elks, whether for their river cleanup or our program to gather supplies for the soldiers overseas, delivered through the local legion connections. The G.L. of Ct. this year is also starting a program to promote organ donation among the craft. Should one go to meet ones maker prematurely, with the miracles of health sciences, one can provide life to another person in need, a highly valuable service to ones fellow man. We hope this program catches hold among all the craft throughout the country as well, similar to the national success of the Child ID Program CHIP.

Well we have our Grand Lodge meeting this upcoming Monday, and the banquet Sunday night. Should be a great weekend. We have been leaning toward a more temperate approach of late, so thats good for a moral society, and not so good for those who like to make appointments with the bottle. My wife is coming along this year for dinner so Ill enjoy that. We have started a new mason roundtable at the Grand Lodge COCA in order to gather feedback from the multitudes of new active masons, and that should be very rewarding.

Initiation and the Queens Chamber

In June of 1981, this came through the Law of One sessions: " You are aware of the concept of initiation and realize that it demands the centering of the being upon the seeking of the Creator. Organ Donor Registry Program of Ct. Freemasons

The Grand Lodge of Ct. commmittee on community action is initiating a program for organ donation. Many lives are saved, and many more will be saved, as we begin to see ourselves as our brothers keepers. Life Choice Donor Services and the New Englad Organ Bank will have a link on our Grand Lodge website in the future and folks who wish to get the red heart mark placed on their driving license will be able to do it through the referral of Ct. Freemasonry. We have all heard the stories of the family waiting for a heart or kidney. Last year 20% of organs used in transplant came from deceased donors. There is a book written in 1882 called OAHSPE, Chapter 37 toward the end and book of Fragapatti chapter 38 has an interesting story about the origins of the scarlet and brimless hat, the Hirom. This book preserves the primary law of freewill, by partially veiling and partially unveiling mysteries of this world. The wearer is Faithful even unto Death, is thrown to the lions, but predicts that his bloodied hat will bring down the corrupted king, which proves to be the case. The Spiritual Matrix and Newtonian Physics

The spiritual world, underlies the material world of opposites. The pleroma as we know it is in a polarized/magnetized space. That is a freewill Plan. Infinite Intelligence/Love vortexing in freewill into intelligent energy/light. Hermetic tradition holds that the material world is as the spiritual world, so spiritual law is the matrix upon which the laws of the material world are overlaid. For example...Newtons reciprocal change of energy....mass in motion requires equal and opposite force to bring to rest....has the correllary in karma. This is cause and effect, and forgiveness is a force which will stop that wheel of karma. Reincarnation, of the infinite soul, can refer to the concept of preservation of energy, being transformed. Inertia, has correlary, a reason for our transformative freewill plane of spiritual evolution...in that a soul without catalyst will remain at rest, blissfully at rest within the Creator. Material and spiritual gravity would hold, that which has greater success at seeking the infinite Creator has greater spiritual weight. So a black hole is as a solar logos. Truth from a Teacher like Buddha, Christ, Zarathustra will endure in time, a type of gravitas. Order, consequence and above all The Mystery of the veiled Plan of Freewill, of which proof will never exist. As the Royal Society sought to understand the Creator through the sciences, we in ritual seek to understand the journey set out for the Seeker through the choices and catalyst. As above, so below. This financial collapse is eerily similar to a certain myth. We have used the technologies of derivatives and finance to create a problem akin to one of warfare. Only difference is that we have selfishly used the system without a care for the global economy.
